Networking Professionals of New Jersey, Inc. (NPNJ) is an organization dedicated to the ideal of providing a full range of complementary services to businesses through membership networking and referral opportunities.

NPNJ is now part of The Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce is a business organization that represents and advances the business interests of it members.  With 1,800 members, it is the largest business organization in Northern New Jersey and offers many services and resources to its members, such as networking events, advocacy, discounted business services, seminars, trade shows, and promotional opportunities. Networking Professionals of New Jersey, Inc. Group was formed in January, 2001 by Phil Palazzolo. He left another networking group with a group of true professionals to create a new generation of professionals committed to the true concept of business networking. It was their belief that to become a member of this new networking group, an applicant had to come to the breakfast table with something other than "their own appetite". We have all experienced too many "networking" meetings wherein the individuals present were only trying to sell their service/product to the other attendees. They were not really interested in helping others.

If the first 3 rules of real estate are: location, location, and location; the first 3 rules of Networking Professionals of New Jersey, Inc. would be: give first, give first, and give first. The long term vision of the membership process has always been: find individuals that establish a proven track record of being:

1. a strong professional in his/her given discipline;
2. a person who genuinely enjoys helping others, and seeks out opportunities to do so;
3. one who desires to commit to attend meetings, bring guests to those meetings, meet with others for conferences; and give referrals.

The consequence of combining those attributes in its membership would be the creation, and the maintenance of a dynamic organization that would ultimately be sought out by a wide range of outstanding professionals.

Today, that vision has grown to a membership base of over 20 professionals. Frequently, the group will express over many "Thank You's" for referrals given or benefits exchanged per month.

NPNJ is for motivated people who want to expand the possibilities for generating business. If you are not ready to make an effort you will only meet valuable contacts at NPNJ if they seek you out. Getting the maximum benefit out of NPNJ requires effort and motivation. Each member must take responsibility for their own progress.  

Membership in the Networking Professionals of New Jersey, Inc. Group also entitles you to a wide array of members-only privileges, including:

·         Protection of the member's slot, i.e., only one member per occupation;

·         Ability to distribute or display materials on the tables during meetings;

·         Opportunity to present an extended "Spotlight Speech" once per year;

·         Participating in announcements at the end of the meetings;

·         Getting involved in leadership, either via the Leadership Committee or the Membership Committee;

·         Participation in various synergy/power groups within the group;

·         Voting on such items as incoming members, leadership, finances, and social activities;

·         Utilizing the group's email blast facility to communicate with the group as a whole.
